Definitely not cool to go behind the owner's back to do anything sexual if that's the case. Even most zoos who are sexually active with their companion would be very upset if somebody else did so without their knowledge.

This. Heads would roll if I found out that someone did that with my animals. But let's give him/her the benefit of the considerable doubt and assume the owner knows. If so, enjoy.
