My feeling about the first days Here at ZooVille

Lurker
I hope you all have a great weekend.

I've just been here for a few days. But I'm pleased to have found so much information. And so many people who dare to write about themselves. And even to show themselves!

But the more I read, the more unsure I am. Can I really do justice to a dog? I really want to have a fluffy companion. But do I have the time? Can I take him to work with me? Can I even afford it? I want him to be really well.

On the other hand, the thought of falling in love with a dog is so strong. Much stronger than with people. It's so great to read here how intensely others experience and live out their feelings. The conviction that I like dogs for more than just cuddling is greatly strengthened here in the forum. But that's probably only natural when you meet people who feel the same way for the first time. It's the first time I've read that there are even zoo-exclusive people. I have to think about that too, even if I don't think that's the case for me.

Also thanks for the arousal that I can experience through your openness.

I will continue to read diligently and make myself smart.

Thank you kindly it appears it most likely will be just that! :gsd_love:

Um I would have to say if your love is so deep than yes you can more than do justice by any fluff monster. You seem to have a firm grasp on what dog ownership entails and are asking all the right questions. I think if you can and have a place of your own that allows it you should get a dog that fits your living style and situation. A pup is not going to be hurt by you being at work if your provide it with the right accommodations while you are working. Don't pass on it if you would be fulfilled by having a furry companion you will simply regret it later if it never happens. You seem like you would make the perfect dog owner. :gsd_happysmile:

I too hope you are in excellent health and that you have a most wonderful weekend! :gsd_nerd:??

Thanks for your words. Yeah I like to think thoroughly bevor i make big decisions. I need a new flat for sure, way to little space here. I will move in the summer.

This is why I don't have one myself.

It's good to question yourself on such matters. Mostly it's the shorter life spans.

address the ownership and responsibility questions first. An animal that has been trained to mate and given up, is not likely to get adopted easily and you unwillingly could have jeopardized some poor sweeties life.

be 100,000,000% certain about ownership before proceeding.

I hope anyone going through all that effort is very conscientious about everything you just mentioned!
sometimes being the voice of reason hurts. We get so caught up in the excitement. boop boop boop here I come to rain on the fun with my "hey consider this first" ... kinda see why i am not always liked here. oh well that is a me problem.

What’s right and what’s easy don’t always align unfortunately :(
Very true. That's why I do the harder thing. No doubts. No regrets.

Just keep in mind every dog that isn't adopted is one that may be put down. There's no "easy" solution. Only a rock and a hard place. Make a call.
