My cat is kneading me

AshAndDust

Tourist
A week ago my cat started to knead my stomach every time I let her sit on me. She's using her claws, so, it's kinda painful, but it looks so cute, I don't want to interrupt it. I tried to film it, but she either stopped doing it, or the video quality wasn't good enough for me. I'll try to make a new video, and post it there, if it turn out the way I like.

It is a behavior from early age. They do this to the mother cat. It means they feel comfortable and relaxed.

Relaxed or not, they can make a HELL of a mess out of a good sweater or other knitted clothing, if you let them. You might find an old sweater in a Goodwill store to put on your lap when kitty is in the mood.

Don't worry for my clothes, I'm fat and my belly is soft already.

As George Carlin said..
Its like they're into some kind of bad drug when they do that goofy shit.. lmao

Cats do this when they are happy with you. He or she is genetically programmed to do this, making you comfortable or making milk as if you are the mother. It's lovely when they do that, enjoy it!

Oh, I understand it, but I just wish they would express themselves in some other way. Happily, cats don't usually care if you point their claws elsewhere, like a convenient pillow. I have tried to explain that I don't like it, but that's a message they can't seem to get. So it is either armor or displacement.

Good luck. :)
