Meeting other zoos

Recently I've wanted to start meeting others in my area also into the community, is there do's and don't to privacy regarding the taboo of this community? Obviously don't just talk about zoo stuff wherever but more meaning for the sake of protecting myself and the people I meet. I think this forum seems pretty safe for that but one can never be too careful, especially now adays.
