Lost the desire

Has anyone ever been without for so long they lost the connection and desire they once had? I kinda feel like I'm dealing with that. My current partner has no clue and would not support it. so I can't really talk to anyone that gets my hyped about it daily. I haven't been active since 2021, so it's been quite a while. I've recently been shopping around for another pup, but I just find myself being indecisive and almost lazy about it. Even watching zoo porn has less effect than it used to, if any. Has anyone ever felt this way?

not really. then again, you have a (human) partner. maybe it's some form of being content (or even happy) with what you have?

can't really relate, am only interested in dogs. not having one equals not having any partner at all.

Your desire (or loss of) comes from within or a medical issue. Rule out medical issue first. Then treat mental or emotional issues, like trauma.

Its been many years for me since I've been with an animal, and it seems that the desire just grows greater with time

Can't relate. There's been times I went without having a dog for years and the attraction has never left.

I think you may be dealing with issues in other areas of your life and it’s affecting you with this aspect of yourself.

I have actually had this happen to me as well. But it was with all beings.

I had a pretty bad depressive episode after dealing with a huge loss, then financial issues with my business stacked ontop, and then other issues that piled on.
I lost interest in everything. Nothing felt good. Life was dull and I wasn’t suicidal but I had no motivation to do anything
I couldn’t even play video games and I adore them.

I think the most important thing for you to do is working on healing. You may be suppressing emotions and not even realizing.
Your subconscious mind may be thinking very negatively and you aren’t even realizing how it’s affecting you.

Work on “rewiring” your brain.
Build a healthy routine
Do affirmations
Do shadow work guided meditations
Breath work
Change of diet
Cutting out toxic people in your life
Making time for hobbies you love
Take a bath and give yourself a spa day
Try doing a float session

The most important thing is diet, healthy routine, and facing the emotions you have buried.
