Locating the opening on female k9.

Okay so this is a little bit embarrassing since I thought it would be fairly easy to identify the vulva on an adult dog. Even when driving by other people walking their dogs on the street I could tell at a glance if they were male or female by identifying the pronounced shape of the vulva. I figured it would be obvious for all dogs.

Well, I adopted a malamute mix about six months ago and she has settled in nicely. I've tried to fool around with her a couple of times recently, just with my fingers to start off nice and slow, but when she is in a standing position I honestly can't figure out where her vulva is located. I can sort of touch it, but there's so much fur I can't even see if I'm rubbing in the right place. Her vulva is almost perfectly camouflaged by thick fur on the vulva. All I can feel is fur and maybe a fleshy bit now and then. I would try to initiate with her on her back where it is definitely more visible, but she almost never rolls on her back on her own and doesn't like being forced into that position so I won't make her do it that way.

I guess my question is, is there a trick to getting a better view of the opening so I can see what I'm doing? I've seen some YouTube informational videos that show the handler gently pushing with a thumb on the spot in between the vulva and rectum which is supposed to cause the labia to part slightly, but that doesn't seem to work for me. Also, would her being spayed matter in terms of the size/shape of the vulva? I would think not, but I'm also not a vet.

Any advice is appreciated.

I was going to suggest you waited for her heat, when it grows and is much more fleshy and apparent.

Likely she was spayed at a short age and is underdeloped.

Look at the MFdog porn section. Plenty of good images showing the exact position. (basically between the legs and down where the dog ends)

Mind:
1: She will likely be OK being touched but not specially eager, mainly about any penetration. If she is underdeveloped you nay not fit more than a finger. Respect her.

2: Angle. Entry is *very* top of the vagina and angled up. I have my own embarrassing story on that about my first one

Thanks! Yes, I suspect she was a puppy mill dog that was separated from her litter too early, immediately spayed, and sent off to her first home. She has pretty horrible dog social skills and doesn't really know how to play with any toys, which is why I hold that theory.

I have managed to have a little more success in the past few days by pulling her legs apart just a bit and pressing on the spot I mentioned in the OP, I can see the opening and possibly the clitoris. It's extremely small, so I probably won't be fitting anything in there sadly. Alas, even if I can't provide for her sexual needs, she's still an awesome dog and I wouldn't trade her for anything.

She sounds so damn adorable. Sorry to hear that she was spayed though. Poor girl. I’ve often heard that once spayed at a young age, they have little to no interest in sex at all and can’t fit much of anything even if they wanted.

But that’s right though. You still have a wonderful companion to love and cherish.
