I've never found it difficult; I work at work, I don't want to hear about someone else's private matters and they don't want to hear about mine.
In my social groups that aren't zoos we discuss the subjects appropriate for the group and all the zoo stuff happens with zoo friends.
Most of the time when talking with other zoos it's all normal day-to-day life anyhow, just without the need to filter.
