I have heard of it, but canines are already more dedicated to their partners more than most humans are capable of, so ceremony is moot, IMHO.

I cant be the only one in this, lol me and my german shepherd max are in a committed relationship, i dont fuck other male dogs, tho i want too so badly sometimes, and he will not allow anyone else to fuck him and thats proven cause a couple of my other zoo friends tried and got bit, and he will...

I never really considered a ceremony or anything like that because my shep would not understand, it would be something I did for me. Since everything has to be super secret anyway, I feel like there kinda already is that level of commitment.

Although that being said I still occasionally date, I just keep anything that involves my pup a super secret

there was a time i considered getting rings and putting one on his collar behind the tag so it's not really visible. not really much beyond that. no need for some pseudo-ceremony, i knew he loved me as i loved him...
