im just very interested to see if it common i havent used it for forplay but i want to but am curious if it common like human females nipples are a source of 2 things milk and pleasure for the female is this a common or is it just a case by case bais

Some of them don’t mind it most of them seem to hate it, Some seem to enjoy it but not many. If they don’t like it they will give you a hoothprint stamp

I doubt the association between sexual pleasure and nipples exists in animals except humans.

First, "teat" is the technical term for "nipple" though common usage ascribes "teat" to non-human crotch boobs to differentiate them from chest locate "tits".

Yes, it is possible for a mare to consider teat play as foreplay but it's more of an individual preference than an instinct. Horses are experts at sensing intent so your intent is a major factor in how a horse interprets anything.

*BUT*

(Yes, it's the biggest "but" I have.) Mares are usually *VERY* sensitive in that area. Be sure you have a trusting relationship and good understanding before you go there. When you do, start by using warm water and soft cloth to clean her. Dirt and grass will accumulate in the crevice between her teats and become cemented in place by sweat. Keeping that area clean and irritation free is comparable cleaning a stallions penis. Once she understands what is being offered, she will often become your best buddy. Because of their lack of body flexibility, horses face a lifetime of annoying irritation from things like these and will appreciate it if you can solve these problems for them.

i alway clean every part they cant clean and i was doing that for the sake of cleaning but saw them and was curious but didint know how to test the waters to see if they like it they trust me to the hilt and i dont want to fuck it up and betray there freindship i gran had a mule who didnt like my mom mostly due to something shit did long before i was born she forgive her and never truster her again but the mule like me and always let me brush her and get the neetle and bramble out of her tail in short i dont want to break trust

Some enjoy it and others don't. Can be a bit of a pain when you need to clean them. They almost always settle down and enjoy a cleaning if you approach them correctly. Grab any mare by the udder and she will either cow kick you or spin around and belt you.

Key is to run your hand slowly down from the back and to the belly and rub while getting closer to the udder and test the water. They may react as you touch them but will typically calm down after a while. Caressing the udder and rubbing the teats normally causes them to lean into you. She'll chew and here lips will twitch. Eventually she hang her head low with a dopy face.

Some like being milked, although not producing they still have fluid. If you have a special bond with the mare and very strong trust she may let you suckle her but bewarned of the risks.

Keep in mind that some predators go for the under belly/rear and genitalia in an attack. Prey animals are instinctively going to be weary of contact in these areas especially if they are not expecting it.

I've tried it with three mares and all of them were fine with it, in one case the owner even stated that it's one of her "sweet spots" that she likes having caressed the most. Of course I didn't just randomly start playing with her udders, but progressed there from first getting familiar with her and petting her other body parts (like EQLVR said). I personally believe the mare could be interpreting it as nursing behavior, like your hand is a foal's mouth and thus it gets her oxytocin firing in the same manner.

But I've also heard some anecdote (maybe it was even here on ZV?) that in sows, stimulating her udder is one technique to get her aroused prior to insemination; whether this is really true or applicable to mares is hard to say, but there's already a precedence for teat play being erotically stimulating (humans), so I'd say it's definitely on the table.

Perhaps one way to start is by grooming her? Pretty much every horse I've known enjoys a good curry comb session, so it's a great way to build trust and get them to relax. Do your usual routine and then try going over her belly with the curry or a soft body brush; I imagine your mare will be pretty receptive in the context of a grooming session. (I wouldn't expect much trouble though. I've brushed the bellies of racehorses with zero fuss unless they had a painful bug bite or sore I didn't see.) Then just gradually involve touching her teats and making it more into foreplay until she's in the mood or tells you no. Think of it as wooing her with a sensual massage.

Most mares I've been around are more concerned with tickling on the stifle (the web of skin between the belly and leg is most sensitive) then the teats or udders. Many like teat stimulation. Some of them like it so rough you start to wonder if you're going to hurt them-hey rougher you get the more they seem to love it. I have one who chases you down and demands it. Of course others are more touchy.

As much as I fantasize about nursing from a lactating mare's udders, I have to admit that it's simply that: a fantasy. There's no guarantee that she'll enjoy having a strange guy coming up to her and just nursing from her. For now, I'm content to just keep this fetish of mine in the realm of fantasy.

it depends very much on the character and on their past, I have seen that normally those who have ever had a foal are more willing to be touched in that area, as well as the older ones, having said that mine is quite the opposite, or rather ... only I can touch it there, anyone else who approaches, at least receives a push to push it away

Okay I'm cracking up about the mare chasing you down and demanding teat play. Now that's a feisty lady who knows what she likes! XD

Don't worry, it isnt worse, I have one who always comes to pee near me in the field when even vaguely her heat begins and mine when she sees her loses 15 years and chases her all over the field

Reminds me of Stitch, a 30-something cougar of a brood mare I knew some years back. We all know brood mares can be a little moody or nutty, but Stich had lost quite a few marbles in her old age. She often couldn't decide whether she wanted to bang the horse across the fence or kill him, with lots of screaming and kicking involved. She also liked to pee along the edge of the turnouts and watch the geldings turn on eachother in a hormone-addled tussle.
One time, we put a young OTTB who needed a serious attitude adjustment in the stall next to her. (His name was Ace, sardonically named after acepromazine, if that gives you any clues...) Stitch was a batty old lady but she knew how to teach uppity colts some manners!

As a person that has lived on a farm most of his life please indulge me. A very small percentage of mare will even allow a strange foal to nurse on them. This is a survival instinct they have to make sure they have enough milk for their own foal. They are mighty particular about who is around those beautiful breasts. That being said we know horses deeply bond with humans. So taking it slow you might have a chance. Daily Grooming is your best option.
I owed a chestnut mare that would allow me to touch her anywhere including sucking on her teats if I desired. It took years to get to that point.

Most horses, once they figure out you handy hands can reach those crazy itches, quickly start letting you itch anything you can reach. Some of them, turn into straight itch sluts. My mare, she will walk up, rub past me, and swing her butt into me, wanting to get itched on the teats.
One mare who was in the pasture with mine, years ago, she was friendly but I really didn't have much to do with her. One day, I was in the pasture and she was running around kicking her heels straight up into the air. She saw me, and ran straight for me, still bucking and kicking. Got to me and skidded to a stop with her ass right in my face-I thought I was gonna be killed. She just stood there trembling, and then I realized, she had a gnarly horsefly right on top of her rump chewing her up. Knocked it off and gave that spot a good scratch, and then she calmly mosied off on her way. She not only knew that I could fix her problem, she knew she had to quit kicking to not kill me and wait patiently while I figured it out.

Great story! It's times like this that really reinforce that animals can consent. They're far more intelligent than most people give them credit for!

I've only been with a handful of mares so my experience with teat play is limited. Knew some that didn't care. Some not their cup of tea, and one who would stomp you if you come close. Every animal is different
