Safe enough yes, really depends on your personal preference of species and sex, male on female animals for instance large size differences in their favor aren't a concern, larger male animals however are not for the inexperienced.

Given that they're domesticated, in general it's safer to have sex with animals than it is to have sex with other humans. No risks of pregnancy, as well as an almost zero chance of getting an STD.

plus I never cared this much about safety until my best friend said they have sex with animals, I just want to make sure they'd be fine.

That's fine. Understand that we get a lot of trolls on here that ask really weird questions. Usually they'll post a question such as the one you posted, bounce, and never log back in. The fact that you even replied in a genuine sense sure surprised me.
But like I said, it's usually safe to have sex with domestic animals. People have been doing it for thousands of years.
What do you think is the purpose of asking a legit question that is going to be reasonably answered if you are a troll?

None-the-less I agree with all the above comments. Like ... idk what you think will happen. MAYBE the myth around how the AIDS epidemic started, so all assume that once you touch an animal, you're bound to start another one of those. Which is woefully off.
Well, this is FAR from the first one. We've had plenty of "Is it safe to have sex with animals?" That ended up just being trolls in the past. Most of the time they don't come back and reply to the tread. Or if they do, it's followed by "You're all a bunch of sucks fucks! ?? I'm reporting you all to the FBI!"

tbh I didn't think that trolls would also do stuff like this, typically trolls are much more malicious with the questions they ask in my experience.
