I purchased some D2O (heavy water) just so I can drink it and see what it tastes like

So yea, I got a fairly small amount of D2O, about 30ml for $20USD just so I could see what it tastes like, as it’s apparently slightly sweet.
I will report how it tastes like when I get it!

And no, it’s not poisonous, provided you are not substituting H20 with D20 lol

Where did you research deuterium oxide? (D2O)
"Not poisonous" doesn't mean "not harmful."

Well your body naturally has some in it, 5ml, and it can regulate that fine if you ingest any more, however the issues come when you start drinking too much of it and then your body cannot regulate the deuterium in your system and it builds up.

But in small quantities your body can regulate it and it’s fine.

The body has a concentration of it at 120-140ppm.
Drinking more than one normal-size glass of it starts to cause problems, starting with dizziness because, unlike H20, it is heavier than the inner ear fluid, (which controls balance) and tampers with it and, eventually, displaces it. But, that's just the beginning. Keep drinking it and other organ failures will follow, causing a slow death.
Only a moron would drink even a tiny bit of it.

How mutch is a normal sized glass?

200ml

How mutch he has? 30ml

He can drink it, it's his own choice, and probably nothing will happen. It's not a poison that will mess with you, even if you underdose. It's a chemical that will do nothing, as long as you do not overdose. And with that tiny amount he won't overdose.

Congratulation's on the neutron moderator. You have options now!

Thorium, some beryllium, and about 60lbs of lead and scintillator is all that's to it.
"...all that's to it." All that's to what?

Dihydrogen monoxide:
  • is also known as hydroxyl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.
  • contributes to the "greenhouse effect".
  • may cause severe burns.
  • contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
  • accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
  • may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
  • has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.
Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:
  • as an industrial solvent and coolant.
  • in nuclear power plants.
  • in the production of styrofoam.
  • as a fire retardant.
  • in many forms of cruel animal research.
  • in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
  • as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

I mean, 30ml of heavy water isn’t going to kill you or cause any major issues, but I certainly wouldn’t want to drink that much, even if it’s relatively safe in those quantities. Hey, your call though.

You shouldn’t feel too dizzy at those volumes provided you’re already well hydrated. Just keep a chair handy and make sure you’re not scheduled to go anywhere important or operate heavy machinery for a few hours after ingesting :p

You can generate it by electrolysys

I wonder what happen to this person?
Just fine, it’s a bit sweet, it’s not really a concern unless it’s all you drink…

You body naturally has about 2-3ml’s in it anyway.

Basically think of it as water that is completely useless at doing the things regular water does.

To add to this, it’s honestly nice enough that I wish regular water tasted like it, ah well ?‍♂️
