I can't get my dick in my 12 month old retriever.

Lurker
She loves being fingered but I haven't been able to get it in her. I am pretty small and have tried with her in heat and when she's not in heat. Am I doing something wrong?

Wait at least 6 more months to a year, she probably still has some growing to do. During that time, educate yourself on the inner workings of female dog anatomy. It is not as simple as trying to stick it in. There are curves to contend with. When it is the appropriate time, use plenty of water based lube.

I agree with @Oldman, your dog is still too young to be penetrated. Please. Stop all further advancements for now!!! She's basically akin to a teenager! Shell finish puberty at around 16-18 months, but Her body will continue growing till around 2 years of age, therefore so will her lady parts down there. Wait until she is fully grown and in her 3rd-4th heat to try again. When the time does come, keep in mind that a dogs vaginal canal is at the top of the vulva close to their anus (that's why a receptive dog lifts her vulva up for a male) it will be easy to penetrate her in heat as she'll line it up for you if and when she wants you to have sex with her.

I would just do whatever is pleasurable and comfortable for both of you.

Do you think she might enjoy experimenting with anal?

Oh, and lube. Water-based, please.

First and foremost, please hold off. Some people have gotten lucky in the second heat, but even that is pretty questionable outside of figering. Third heat is the best heat to start getting physically intimate. Her lady parts are not fully developed, are not full sized, and are very sensitive when young. If you misaim you can really cause a good amount of physical pain. She will remember this pain and will be less receptive to sexual activities in the future due to negative association.

Unless she's XL sized, or you're literally pencil thin, a bit of stretching will be required for her to accommodate you. Especially getting past the ring of muscle 3-5 inches in. If you do not play it carefully, you can tear this ring. This will cause her imminence pain and may require a trip to the vet. (Have fun explaining that one to them.)

There are plenty of resources on here at the forum. Before I touched a dog, I at least taught myself the basics for human-animal relationship when it comes to sex.

Is fingering her ok still? She asks for it and really enjoys it

I've been using my spit and cum
I would invest in a good water-based lubricant. You can get them cheap at the local pharmacy, or you can get them off of Amazon. They make sex a lot more fun. I found out that I am allergic to the warming stuff, though. I am partial to Astroglide.

Anyhow, everyone is saying third heat's a charm. I only know boy dogs.

I'd personally advise against spit, unless you thoroughly clean your mouth beforehand. Human mouths harbor a lot of nasty bacteria foreign to the dogs array of natural vaginal bacteria. Also, make sure you're thoroughly washing your hands and are thoroughly washing the soap off as well.

But as others have stated, water based lube is the way to go. I personally use Astroglide myself with my girl.

I would like to have an explanation for why my cat lies on his side curling his toes and purring like a Ferarri, when I ream him with my nicely lubed and recently showered index finger, besides the simpler explanation that he's a gay or bisexual bottom.

When he is tired of it, he twists his body off and nuzzles my finger, as if to say, "thank you, honey, but that's enough." If I try to do anything more than I already have, he scratches bloody gashes into my hand.

With all felines, "consent" means you are not currently bleeding.

Dogs tend to have a little bit more faith in your good intentions, so you have to use a little more intelligence.

Lube, lube, and lube some more.

A car is not natural, but does that mean you want to walk every day to get to work? Without using sidewalks or thoroughfares in order to get there but instead stumbling the whole way through brambles and poison ivy?

In nature, animals do what it is convenient and rational to do. If humans invented it, then animals use it if they like it.

Coyotes love interstate highway medians and those broad, spacious shoulders that are often the size of football fields. Airports have a huge amount of open space, and they are Coyote Heaven.

"Natural behavior" is what seems to be the most rational possible behavior, which enhances your level of comfort and your chances for survival. Sometimes, what SEEMS to be rational is not really all that rational, such as coyotes camping out on airfields, but it is profoundly natural for them to do what seems like a good idea at the time.

If you try Astroglide with your girl even once during her third heat, then I can almost perfectly guarantee that you will enjoy it a lot, and you have the assurance of many experienced people here that it's also a wise idea.

Your dog will go along with almost anything that you seem to think is fun because she is a dog: she is evolved to assume that anything her human wants to do is, somehow, fun. As a human, though, you might want to think carefully about your definition of fun. She is going to love you, regardless, but you will do her a better service and probably provide a more fun experience if you are both clean and properly lubricated.

Well, I definitely do agree that lube is important, too much can take away some of the fun and more importantly too much lube can be potentially harmful.

1) Too much lube will make will make her too slick. It'll eliminate any friction when helps both parties better reach an orgasm. Just imagine pouring liquid shampoo on your hands and then trying to handle a wet bar of soap. I've used too much before and it really takes the fun out of it. Basically, you want to be able to push yourself inside with only ~a little bit~of resistance. Enough lube that you can still feel this minute resistance/friction, but also not lacking enough lube that you are causing friction burns and chafing.

2) Lube often contains "Chlorhexidine gluconate" or other similar chemicals with similar compound structures. Too much of this will kill the good bacteria, most notably several strains of lactobacillus which are unique to canines (humans have their own set of this form of bacteria.) Killing off this bacteria will potentially cause infections if too much of these good bacterium are killed off at one time.

3) Lube often contains methylparaben and/or propylparaben. Too much of these chemicals can cause minor chemical burns, inflammation, and rashes. It might also throw off her pH balance and cause unusually high amounts of acidity. This will severely increase the chances of getting bacterial vaginosis. Not only that, but too much of this chemical can cause fertility issues as well.

So, in conclusion, yes lube is important. But so is moderation. For people that are actively having regular intercourse with female canines, you will eventually learn how much is ideal. For me and my girl, two pea sized globs are applied directly on my fingertip and inserted directly into her vagina, coupled with two orgasms from her from fingering. Then a small glob applied directly on my penis, and we're ready to rock-and-roll!
