How To Monetize Your Content.

I think the word profiteering may be a bit strongly worded for the general situation. Sure there are definitely people who want to scam others and milk people for all they are worth. But IMHO, those people are after money and the "method" or "content" to get that money doesn't matter... at the end of the day they're after money and dont care about the material they're making. While that definitely applies to some creators, lumping everyone into that category is a bit unfair.
People who have made their own videos and shared them here, they might want to buy a better camera to be able to share better videos. Depending on their situation in life, they may not have the spare cash to do that. So getting a few hundred dollars over the span of a year might be enough for them to grab a used camera.

A lot of this comes down to intent which is really hard to judge... except for looking at someone's track record. If someone has been creating and sharing their work for years... it's probably unlikely they're just trying to profiteer. Someone who's just joined and is immediately asking for money... well that's a very different situation.

I don't think people supporting creators who are and have been sharing openly without demand for money.. shouldn't be considered that the creator is 'profiteering'. I'll admit, this is sort of a personal issue with me, because for over 6 years I've made and given away all my art for free the entire time (I joined here 4 years ago and started sharing here once I did). Meanwhile others pop up in the larger community like the Pleasure3dx person over at R34V and in a few months is pulling in over $2,500.00 every f*cking month via their subscribestar account. If I said I wasn't a little jealous I'd be lying. But I decided a while ago I cared more about sharing my art with the community than trying to paywall it. Which is why Im broke with an older GPU and Pleasure3dx is raking in the money.

No one read that as a cry for support, I'm just being honest and open about the situation. I choose to give away my work freely and as long I continue to make that choice; the consequences of doing so rest 100% on me and no one else. I'm an odd duck... I stand by my principles even though I'm suffering financially.
Sorry I meant profitting! lol I edited it.

I only use a PC so seems most this shit tries to use phone aps?
Not really.

I think you can run all the required software from a PC and be fine at that. Where are you getting the idea that a smartphone is required?

In any case, smartphones can be emulated on a workstation.

Why encourage profitting in the zoospace when that is exactly where priorities tend to go off the rails in the off-camera treatment of nonhuman partners? If you folks care so much about educaton, then all videos under the Zooville brand should be required to be a not for profit operation focused purely on education and ZETA principles.

I do a lot of stuff for free because it is fun. A lot of that stuff does not turn any sort of benefit other than the fun of doing it. The problem is that since it is not self-sustainable, when I have real life issues the hobbies get interrupted until I can re-fund them again.

See, if I run a free online game for people from my own pocket, and one day my game server crashes, it is going to take me a looooong time to bring the game back online because I will need to migrate the game to a new machine, or rent a new machine. That takes time and money so I won't bring the game back after the crash until I have both of those things.

Ideally, I would get enough donations from my free and for fun hobbies to run them 24/7 without the need for a regular job, but that ain't gonna happen. The next best thing would be to get some money every now and then so the stuff can be stabilized a bit.

I guess pornographers here are in a similar situation.
