How to help our Texas friends

aragos32727

Citizen of Zooville
Forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section. But I wanted to post some information on how to help our members who are affected by the tragic events happening in Texas. If you know of any other ways please post it below.

Update: PLEASE keep this thread to helping our ZV members in Texas. Please do not post opinions, personal views, conspiracy theories, or political beliefs. It does no good towards helping people who are without power,, running water, or access to food, fuel, or heat.

How dare you want to help fellow human beings! We MUST punish those suffering in the cold because of stupid political agendas they have no control over!!!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

On a positive note: the amount of people that are showing compassion is heartwarming, I was afraid that was gone.

How dare you negate the flawed distribution system in the USA? It does not need donations but only a fair distribution of wealth!

You're an idiot. If you have nothing positive to say here, leave. This isn't DF  go make a post about it there.

When my state gets hit by hurricanes Texas always sends help. In fact Americans always help. It's part of what makes us who we are as Americans. Look at the fires in Australia we sent aid and firefighting capabilities, hurricanes, typhoons, the Berlin airlift, we always send Aid. When the people of North Korea were starving we sent 40% of our rice production in a year to North Korea along with other food staples. We may be divided politically, now more than ever, but we always will strive to take care of each other. It's who we are.

So opinions aside. If you can help then help. Even if it's thoughts and prayers.

Your talking to a communist so it’s as expected.
Texas folk are definitely not prepared for snow but yet again did you expect them to be when they live so far south?
Appreciate your thoughts but let's focus more on what the post is about. Let's help our friends down in Texas. Many of our members here are being affected by this unfortunate event.

Yes, always close your eyes and trust in god. That's clear. So much for freedom of opinion.
Please keep your opinions to a different thread. This thread is about helping our members on this site who are being affected by an unfortunate and unforeseen event.

No one ever predicted for Texas to get this massive winter storm, no one could have been prepared for this. Home Depot is literally cutting up their wood stock for fire wood to distribute. Millions are without power because the solar/wind power that politicians have been pushing suddenly froze over (who would have thought). Regardless of the dumb stuff behind it, people are suffering and that's not ok. Doesn't matter if it's the US, Russia, or somewhere like North Korea (it was sad to read when they had to use dogs as food because the people were starving, even Kim cried about it, seems we're all human in the end), why are there people so damn heartless and have this mindset of "at least it's not me, haha US bad"?

There isn’t much I can do but suggest JCPL to get some of the line workers down there to get some power going. Other then that donations of cold weather jackets and the such. Boots and socks too. I got plenty of woolly socks and maybe 2 jackets I can part with

I feel you, and the wind turbines didn't contribute a whole lot to the power grid. The fact that the power grid is separated from other power grids for federal tax purposes and officials ignored for years especially after the last cold snap in 2011 about upgrading the grid for greed is all hindsight. Literally has no good now, nor does it contribute to what this thread is about.

Posting opinions is not really going to help people. Please take a moment to make a donation to a charity that is helping. I applaud the company's and businesses that are doing what they can. A small drop can become a mighty River when enough of us contribute

Any little bit can help. Even if it's a few dollars.

As much as I can’t stand church I got connections to one. I’ll send a care package there and see if they are doing the same. I’m going too turn some heads when I show up there tomorrow.?

I also think in the aftermath, if you are a plumber if you could donate time or discount services I'm sure a lot of people will need it. As any of us who have lived in a cold climate know, if you don't keep water moving your pipes are going to eventually burst when they freeze.

Yeah, I did that yesterday. Asked the holy rollers to shield me so I wouldn't burst into flames

I am responding to this comment of hers just because it is related to helping texas - but wont start a discussion here

the situation in texas actually does not have anything to do with afficiante social system but with the fact that it was a rare weather - and texas is producing 20% of its electricity from green energy like wind and solar which went down in power production by almost 100% which while the traditional fussiol fuel power plants only went downby a third.
so the solutions is to stop listening to communnists like stami if you actually want to survive and dont depend on green energy so much untill it is efficiant

Actually wind energy normally drops during the winter season because of weather and not just in Texas.

As I've stated countless times now. Opinions be damned. This thread is for helping Texans. If you have an opinion or wish to take something up with someone else please move it to a different thread. Thank you.

Please, please, PLEASE!

PLEASSSSEEEE!

Keep your opinions, political beliefs, personal viewpoints, and conspiracy theories out of this thread. If you have information that can help our ZV friends in Texas please post that information here.

but not like in this extreme freeze with mixture of humidity

as I have stated - I dont want to turn this into a conversation - but i said that i think it is helpful to spread awerness on why it happened or else it would happen again - if someone would start a dumpsterfire thread about this I would expend there
