How to deal with Fear issues

Brutalabort

Tourist
Hi there,
My first post in here. I am very scared of dogs but at the same time I had a wish to try k9 with some big and aggressive dog. How do I remove my fear? Is there any simple trick of doing that? I really keep a safe distance from a dog always... Please share your experience if you went through something similar

Keeping a safe distance from a dog you don't know and who does not know you is not fear... it is good common sense.

As far as being with a "big and aggressive dog," I know fantasy usually goes to "dangerous" breed (although one may question if the breed is dangerous or the humans who are owners of a particular breed are the danger). I have been with Dalmatian and a hound mutt. Rest assured, both were more than big enough and plenty aggressive.

If you want to overcome fear though, there are plenty of volunteer organizations that would love an extra set of hands.

Thanks for the advice... Actually you see right now I am feeling very confident but at the same time when I will see a real dog I will loose all my confidence. I tried to get to close to a dog but then again got myself back off. but the dog was calm

I treat the k9 as a individual "person". Observe/react thats my goal. Everything they do has a reason

Dont humanize or Anthromorphize them. They have their own likes/dislikes as any living creature should

seems more like "seek a therapist" kind of thing, i don't think anyone here is qualified enough to really help you... and you don't have to share "i want to fuck one" as a reason to the therapist.
one thing i can advice is maybe stop viewing them as "big and aggressive"... or let the "aggressive" part of your fantasy go. no dog is aggressive if you treat him/her right.
