How do you frame your zoo relationships?

As I'm digging more and more, I've become increasingly interested in how you all frame your relationships with your animal partners. How do you see them? Would you introduce them as a pet, lover, boy/girlfriend, spouse, etc? Does it differ depending on the animal? I'd love to hear some perspectives on this!

Personally, I'm not sure how I view it yet. Mainly because I'm inactive for the time being. But if I had my druthers, and was finally introducing my animal companion to another zoophile, I think I'd refer to mine as a lover.

The easiest way to wrap your head around it, is to view them as a partner or your partner if you're monogamous. Let anything deeper come naturally - when it comes naturally, you realize you don't need a label for it

Loving friend, something a little past that but I'm not monogamous nor do I think I'm in a romantic relationship with my dog or anything like that, it's not me
