I see quite a lot about telegram here, how can I get on it?

It is a mobile app and desktop client. You need a phone number to create an account and verify it. Once signed in you use it like any other instant messenger. I suggest using a completely new phone number from an old phone and throwing the sim card and the phone away once registered. This would mean that you must never loose the login session files because without the sim card you will not be able to sign in again. If you use your own number you will have your real identity linked to the account. Since telegram allows reporting content I do not consider it safe enough because this means that admins can and will review reported messages. There have also been successful anti zoo attacks on telegram groups leaking user information. In all cases set your account to not display the number to anyone.
