Joy just came to live with me, she is 2.5 years old, terrier/mountain cur mix. She is a rescue. She had a litter 6 weeks ago. Right now she is understandably tired, depressed, and a little scared. Can anyone give me an estimate of how long before she is herself again? How much longer after she is better should I wait to see if she is receptive to my advances? I won't force the issue. If she is not interested, so be it. But I'd love to develop an interspecies relationship. Right now I just am providing the basics - walks, food, water, and sit with her petting her. She's been through a lot.
