So my question is how can I tell what kind of dog to get first? Like I don't want nothing to big or to small .. but I am very green to it I love the videos and pictures I'm ready to get my feet wet kinda nervous but super excited just need some pointers from some vets on how to get started ? have great day everyone

Research breeds needs, space/activity level/social needs/temperment/etc, and choose one that matches your lifestyle and what you're able to provide for it.

A lot is going to depend on your personality. A very active person is going to do best with a different kind of dog than someone who would rather stay in. Then there is what personalities you get along well with. Do you like smart and curious or sweet and laid back. There are Velcro pups that want to be next to you at all times and independent that will do their own thing a lot. Also what length of fur? Do you want a fluff or silky long hair which will be a lot of brushing or a short hair either coarse or soft.
Generally speaking though for most people a good starter dog is a golden or lab depending on whether you want long of short. They are kind of mid sized. They are smart and generally easy to train.
Now if you like absolute chaos then huskies. Two is in fact easier than one.

Well you are in the right place for good advice from all of the experienced members hehe. That's awesome you are loving the pics and videos and want to try it yourself. I would search different breeds knot sizes and see what you are able to handle currently like depending on how many fingers you can masturbate with. I'm sure some licking would definitely break the ice ?

considerations, do you have a yard, apartment, are you active jog, hike, do you have allergies, do you mind shedding, suspected health of breed, energy level of breed, barking, some more prevalent to separation anxiety, intelligence, train ability, initial cost. No k9 is perfect but these are all important considerations that should rank higher than size, apperance etc. you will have your companion 8-14 yrs so choose wisely.
