Herding dogs

Those with experience with traditionally herding dogs (specifically those that retain the interest/instinct/whatever even if they've never herded animals)... Do you find that they try to herd humans as well? And specifically their human mate if they have one?

The behavior that brought this up was heel-nipping of a heeler, which I believe is herding behavior. In that situation, there wasn't any sex involved, but it got me wondering about "what if" there was.

Thanks!

I know one herding dog quite well, the instincts are quite clear. While playing games he does keep nipping lower part of legs, when off leash on walks, he observes all the time where his people are and is very confused when we decide to go different ways, and when he gets an occasion to play with group of kids, he herds them same as he does with chicken, sheeps or other animals. He also is quite dominant over different dogs, regardles if he known them, or has just met them, even if that dog would be three times his size. It is quite amazing to watch

No idea if it would somehow affect sex life tho
