Cat009

Lurker
So i recently discovered i have a thing for cats but because my roommate is allergic to them we cant have one so i wanted to take one from the street bu her a collar and a leash and find a place maybe somewhere in the woods where i would keep her maybe build her a little house and i would play with her there now how stupid is this can somebody tell me

Sometimes, all you can do is sadly shake your head at the stupidity of those so desperate that the only way they're capable of thinking is jerking down their zipper. Best result you can hope for is that they get clobbered by a bus the next time they try to cross the street.

How stupid is this?
It's about as stupid as a man who went out and bought a family-sized box of stupid at a two-for-one sale and paid triple-price for it, that's how stupid it is. Go find a plushie to rub against your dick, you pathetic sack of shit. Better yet, just crawl away and die like the totally worthless puddle of sewer-sludge you are. The world will be a better place without you in it.

1. You can not keep a cat like that. Even inside cats need a lot of space if it can not be horizontal space it has to be vertical space otherwise the cat will be stressed.
2. Keeping any animal unsupervised on a long leash outside in a complicated environment will eventually lead to the leash getting tangled and the animal either hurt or killed.
3. You would confine your cat to a life of hell. If the cat ever gets into any serious fight with other animals she will have no way of escaping and an outside intact cat will get into fights inevitably.
4. Keeping a cat on a leash is difficult as it is. Cats are not built for that and it requires lots of training.
5. You are never going to build a trusting relationship with an animal you do not live with and interact with a lot let alone a stray cat with bad experience.
6. You are not going to be able to provide food for her all the time and she will not be able to hunt herself. If you forget or can not bring her food and water for a few days, she will die. If any other animal finds her food, she will get into a fight or give up the food and starve. Other animals are inevitably going to find any free food.

If you do this you are simply going force a cat into a life or endless torture ending with a probably quite horrible death.

Wait until you have a different room mate or move elsewhere.

I do not understand why is it hard to wait a few years to be able to get a cat in a normal way. I waited more that 10 years to have my own animal partner and I did everything I could to prepare for it in advance.

f you really believe you'll get any kind of support for your ridiculous dream here, or anywhere, you really are ignorant.
What I am afraid of is that even if he gets a cat normally, the cat will be treated poorly. Because of what has been said above.

I just wish people would at least study a bit about keeping the animal they long for. Some people are just not meant to take care of animals. On possitive side, this guy at least asked and there is a chance that he will reconsider the way he thinks about having an animal. Hopefully he'll wait for better circumstances and learn more about cats in the meantime..

Yeah, no sir. A cat is a living creature with thoughts and emotions, believe it or not. If you wouldn’t want to live on a leash all alone for most of the day out in the rain, snow, blazing heat, or whatever weather, with vicious predators, disease spreading insects/plants/microorganisms, and lord knows what other life-threatening or painful factors, chances are, you shouldn’t do it to a cat.

That, and there’s a reason most people don’t use leashes for cats. The fact that you think putting a leash on a cat is standard or even acceptable speaks lengths about just how much you know about them. I was raised around dogs my entire life and even I know cats are waaaay too free-range and independent to be tied down their entire lives.

I hope all the best for any cat -or shoot, any animal in general- that makes the mistake of crossing paths with you at this moment. Either get educated on the creatures you’re fixated with using the head on your shoulders and not the one in your pants, or let karma bite you in the ass when you inevitably cause harm to an innocent being.

@FloofyNewfie @ZTHorse This is looking an awful lot like DF material

We only differ on this in one way: I think it ought to stay right here, front-n-center, waiting for the next idiot like this one that comes along to see exactly what kind of support (namely, none at all) such thought/behavior is goign to get around here. Yeah, it's vicious. Yeah, it's ugly. And yeah, that's *EXACTLY* the way somebody like this should expect to be treated if they show their face around here.

This is BARELY a half a step away from the whole "I want a self-warming dildo/pocket-pussy (no pun intended, but since it's laying there...) that I can shove in a drawer and ignore when I'm not using it to get off on" mindset that most of the *REAL* folks here wouldn't tolerate any more than they'd put up with the idea of roping a puppy to a log and ass-raping it to death with a broken-off baseball bat.

Sure OP get a cat. I'll look out for your Rainbow Bridge post shortly afterwards once the cat inevitably dies. I don't think you've thought this through at all. How do you plan on securing this cat to whatever you plan to tie it to? A collar will not work. Do you know how fragile a cats neck is? I've heard of people gently rolling their cat into a somersault and the cat dying due to snapping its neck. The same thing will probably happen to the cat after it tries to escape by any means possible. What about a harness instead of a collar, you might ask? Nope, that won't work either. Cats are flexible and have sharp teeth. It'll more than likely bite through any harness you put on it and escape. Hell, my smaller dog managed to bite through her harness and she's nowhere near as flexible as a cat. That's not even to mention the fact that your cat will more than likely become coyote food, or food for whatever local predators that happen to roam your area.

You gotta think with the head on top of your shoulders, not with the head between your legs. It took years of hard work and self education to get to a point where I could take care of animals, they are beings that require your attention and dedication, a little less so with a cat, but that's besides the point. They rely on you for their care and wellbeing. There are no shortcuts regarding this matter. If you are not in a position to properly take care of an animal, don't get one. Period, end of story.

Y’know, that’s not a bad idea. Let everyone know where we stand with these issues. Cause bastards like these have been popping up pretty frequently as of late.

Before this gets too out of hand I would wait for the OP's response to the current comments. Maybe it is enough to change his mind.

Oh, there's no question he's seen it - He was floating around not more than a couple of minutes after my "leave it here" post, and according to the status he showed then, he was looking at the thread. He's seen it. And after seeing that he's gonna get nothing that even smells like support, he's scurried off like the rat-shit waste of oxygen he is, back into the darkness from which he came without bothering to comment any further. And I'll be willing to bet a donut that he's either never going to return (good - no loss) or if he does, he'll do one of two things: He'll either pretend this thread never existed, or he'll figure out how to edit his post to nothing - not that it will do any good, since it's been quoted at least twice that I've noticed - and maybe he'll even go to the effort to figure out how to rename the thread to "." in hopes that nobody will see it and connect it to him.

You assume that he's not just another in the long list of: make account, post stupid question, never log in again.
Either that, or its a kid playing with someone elses comp. This is someone who isnt capable of caring for himself, let alone another living thing.

OP...if you're still with us: Whatever your desire might be, until you can have your own space, forget this. All you'll accomplish, if that, is making yourself feel bad when the cat dies. The kind of trust needed for a cat to be a love object takes close proximity for awhile. That aint gonna happen with a stray in the woods. Various parasites will take her out if your mistreatment doesnt. let it go, and find a shrink. You need one, whether your question is real or fake.
