Hard time making friends?

I am facing a similar issue, but for different reasons.

I am long enough in the zoo community to know a lot of zoos in person, so getting to know knew zoos safely should not be an issue. But during the last ~ 10 years, the zoos I knew seem to vanish one after another and the "new generation" of zoos is 20 years younger by now ?

It's sad to see the community diminish like this.
 
I Don't have many friends, out side of the zoo community ether, I guess I'm to secretive of my real life and fantaies so I don't talk to people. I was hoping to find friends here people that I could relate to, and enjoy talking to, flirting with or sharing fantasies, and just having fun without worrying about what I said. I'm trying to put myself out there but years of hiding makes it a little hard, I'm hoping some of you on here will find me fun and worth talking with.

Yeah, I can relate.

In may case, for added issue, most I would rely were at the other side of the sea, so we only had online communication.

So only one I had less than 500 mile conmute, and we developed good friendship. Even with that one at this point... Well. There is communication at least. Meeting my family is a serious frienship killer :(

Yeah same here. Even though I'm told I'm lucky to be in the south, it's a pain. Havent been in the community long though unfortunately

I’m kind of the same. I guess I keep my real life and fantasies to separated. I also have troubles troubles talking to people in general. That’s why I decided to be a part of the zoo community instead of just a participant. Trying to get to know some people with similar interests.

That’s what this place is for. To people with similar interests and see if any of them are the kind of personality to call real friends.

Well, Spain is at least not across the sea :) In my early zoo years, most of my contacts were on IRC too, and it was almost completely zoos from the US. I visited some of them back then, too.

Fortunately, that was also the time where the furry community started around here and I met a lot of zoos there.

I just realized you just joined us, so welcome I hope you find some friends to talk to, you know you can always talk to me. I don't bite well at least at first. lol ?

Im down to chat with anyone but I have to be honest not many people are willing to move past basic small talk can't really meet people who don't want to share much. But I get the whole trying to be as vague as possible but it's not that hard to give details with out getting overly specific. I don't add people on normal social channels because it's more than likely either a troll or antizoo. If they seem like good people then I offer up encrypted chat as a next step. I'd love to have an entire chat room of trustable people at some point it'll take a while but it all starts here.

I mean most season people got a super hardskin built up so it really makes sense doo to the environment. also reading people is hard.

It can be hard to read people that's why small steps are to be taken so no one gets screwed. Also encrypted email and chat makes it quite hard to figure people's identity. I guess what im getting at is if you want to meet me pm me and we can meet eventually if you're even remotely local. If not then all well guess we're just internet friends. Im not hard skinned but I am young and have very little to lose if I have to I can drop everything and move. I don't blame them for being more careful than us young people after all they'd lose everything.

It's hard to make friends because we get hunted like witches all the time and even when you meet someone it's hard to develop your friendship because there's always doubt.

It's tough for us.
