Has anyone been able to let their animals mate and been able to observe them closely, maybe touch or pet the while they do it? It's a fantasy of mine, although I've never had pets unfortunately.

There's a video series on YT of someone with a couple of dogs, the male has had a vasectomy and the owner lets them mate whenever the female's in heat. I find this really hot. Would be awesome if this was available more widely and for other animals too.

What I meant was animal/animal. Has anyone had memorable experiences with seeing/being close to animals mating?

Closest experience I have is seeing two beautiful large dogs (same breed) frolicking in my neighbor's yard, with some mounting. I'm not totally sure it was mating behavior, but really turned me on regardless.
 
I guess the most spectacular sex I've ever had was a three way with my stud and a mare nicknamed "the bitch". It was spring, the weather was nice, and I had several days off. She was teasing the poor stallion mercilessly so I went out in the pasture with the idea of giving him some relief. She most emphatically did not want to share the dick and we fought. He loved every second of it, standing there watching mares fighting over him while he beat off on his chest. Three days later we were all tired, bruised, and satisfied and I was the undisputed alpha of our little band.

It takes special skills, exceptional strength, and a lot of luck to fight a horse on their terms and win. Just getting too close to strange horses mating can be fatal.

I can't say with any certainty because I sleep for 8 hours once a day and they sleep for 1 hour twice a day. I got covered 3 or 4 times a day for all three days and I know she got at least as much. After she tried to block me, I made a point of blocking her and taking him away from her a couple of times.

There was a lot more to it than just the sex. We groomed and hung out between covers. She learned to respect me as the alpha mare of our band and it helped a lot for the rest of the year. She called me to watch for her while she delivered the foal conceived in our little orgy.

It was seriously messy. I got stretched and went through about half a box of super extra large tampons in the day afterwards. I would give a lot to be able to do that again. It's sex on a scale and with an intensity that is literally super-human.
 
unless you have an endangered breed like the hungarian kuvasz, and are willing to invest the time and can afford to raise the pups and rehome them properly then it is something best left a fantasy. too many people are breeding common overpopulated breeds and not caring for them properly as it is.

if you have an endangered breed and can afford the time and money to raise them properly however, than by all means go for it. we need more RESPONSIBLE people breeding kuvaszok and similar endangered breeds to keep them from going extinct.

I have to say yes and yes as well, but I have kuvaszok two girls one boy. They are an endangered breed, and I have a great deal of veterinary experience as well as having grown up on a working livestock farm.
yes it is incredibly erotic, and a wonderful experience, but as I said I know what I'm doing. Please don't undertake this without thinking things through. By irresponsibly breeding common breeds, it takes food and medical resources away from endangered breeds, and overall worsening the overpopulation problem.
Dont get me wrong, I am strongly against spaying and neutering, and consider it animal abuse, but people need to be responsible and only breed endangered breeds instead of adding to an overpopulation of common breeds.

It should be a capitol crime by firing squad to spay or neuter or in any way sterilize any endangered breed (except in medical emergencies) but by contrast vasectomies and tubal ligations should be mandatory for the most overbred common breeds (namely the ''fasion accesory' types). I'm strongly opposed to government invasion of private lives too, but in this case it would benefit all.
