Flare pain?

Hi everyone

I haven't yet tried anything with an animal, but I'm curious about miniature horses. I keep hearing lots of different experiences about the flare.

Some say it just makes you feel really full and others say it hurts a bit or at least feels like a strain when it stretches you.

Can anyone chime in with their experience on the pain issue? I'm only wanting to try vaginal sex, but I'm sure other experiences are still good information.
