Flag Waving and other signals online

So I'm in the DFW area and over the years on hookup apps and sites like grindr and sniffies, I've seen varying degrees of openness to zoo stuff. From vague messaging like pervs/dog dad in the same sentence, to more direct stuff like paw tatts and kinkster pfps, to just straight up outright saying they're looking for a knot in their bio in so many words.

My point/question is I've seen these guys and always wondered about approaching them. Has anyone else seen people in their area with online profiles like this? Would you/have you reached out to people like that? Or have you been that bold to put your zoo interests out there?

Following as well.

Also one of the things that is a tell-tail sign (no pun intended) that they could potentially be a zoo is having animal-themed dildos such as knots, horses, etc.

Also with me being in the furry fandom, if they are into anthro x feral or human x feral art that could be another sign they are a zoo or a closet zoo.

One of the things you can do is compliment their toys or say something like you would love to try them out. I sent photos of my toys, which are mostly animal themed (I call them fantasy themed), and they usually grab a lot of interest.

Yeah I've seen those alot of artists and furries don't really make a hobby of being subtle on where they stand on zoo.

But guys on a hookup app are different. Unless they balls to the wall don't care it won't really come up. And I feel like the novelty of animal toys has become too popular to make assumptions.

Yeah you can get 'cancelled' in the fandom pretty quick for making art like that.

Also it depends on the toys as well. I did notice a lot of people have dog and horse dildos so it does appear to be more common, however one way to tell is if it all animal-themed toys. (Opinion.)

Fair enough. Have you ever seen guys in your area that put signals out like that?

I feel like a lot of the "flags" people are looking for can be valid, and can be just as much a coincidence. I have some pretty anti-zoo friends that still like anthro art where characters have animal dicks. I have some zoo friends who prefer human dicks on their anthro art. Most of my anti-zoo friends know I have written bestiality stories before, and they don't really care because, "well, that's just fantasy, so I don't really care." It can be really had to try and figure out who is and who isn't, and dangerous, at the same time.

I disagree with the whole, "people are cancelled for drawing zoo art" cause, well, there are LOADS of popular artists who draw feral stuff all the time and no one really cares. Sure, you might have some that want to whine and cry about it, but if you ignore them, it largely goes away.

In the end, as long as you're careful with what you say, and are willing to lie, it's not hard to remain too safe with people. I have discovered LOTS of my friends are into beast stuff just by showing them more "gateway" stuff at first, and getting them on the subject of it. Maybe telling them about a story I wrote or read. And if they seem responsive, I probe more and more, asking about "I wonder what it's like" etc. Or saying, "man, a friend of mine showed me something real once, and I didn't really know what to think." If they're not all that responsive, then I backpedal and go with, "yeah, it's fine if it's in art or stories" and leave it at that.
