Hi hi!
I'm Camille, I have been interested in zoo for some years now, especially dogs, but didnt know there was website about it, even less communities! Im thrilled to discover this place and hope I will learn lots and lots with you.
I'm what you could call a total noob, my experiences are very limited. But Im interested in getting my first dog. Just I want to do it well. Hope you guys will help me with your insight! ♥

I was new here a long time ago, and am a casual tourist lol I enjoy the content and the feeling of acceptance.

As far as a dog goes, I would highly suggest holding off on any playing with them until they are older than a year. It can create behavioral issues, or at least it did for mine. But to help prevent that in total, I would be sure that you do training so that they know you are the boss out of the bedroom. This is my suggestion from my experience alone.

Im scared to do something bad and messing up etc.
 
Welcome, and glad you found the forum.
I think it's easier to start off by making friends to chat with. And don't worry, you'll have DMs unlocked at 10 posts and replies so you don't have to talk out in the open if you're a private person. Lol
Just be safe here, more than other places online.

Thanks! I was scared enough to do something bad with a potential dog I could take, now Im terrified reading post about all the legal stuff, prison, etc... I didnt realise how bad it was. Definitely having second thoughs

The biggest trick to learn is that what two people know, is no longer a secret. Lock your door, close your blinds and never send anyone pictures.
Dogs mature at different rates....some are ready to play at 14 months, some are more in the two year range....and individuals vary. If hes no longer squatting to pee, consistently lifting his leg, hes probably mature enough.
But remember that not all dogs will be interested. Some just never get there.

Risk is risk....it isnt insurmountable, if you just keep it to yourself. Teach your dog to be a good citizen, or take him to obedience classes....then you'll have a companion to be proud of, even if sex isnt happening between you.

Dont push yourself into this, or let anyone else push you. Either you want it to happen, or you don't, but deciding which may take a little time. Give yourself that gift.
