Efficiency vs enjoyablity

How does one maintain efficiency while also doing a repetitive task and still enjoy it?

In life in general could be a forum or a job thats repetitive. Anything that has a predictable pattern

i worked at a conveyor belt for a few years before moving up, pretty much doing the same set of motions for eight hours. i learned how to zone out while still doing said motions.... i'm not saying it was enjoyable, but shifts went by rather quickly and i never had problems with efficiency
