Dog loves to lick but his tongue is rough?

I (male)have been licked by a few dogs and some seem to have sloppy smooth tongues but my current dog has kind of a rough tongue.
Is there anything I can do to soften the roughness? Dog likes to lick on his own but wondering if there’s anything safe I can give the dog to soften his tongue or something I can rub onto myself that makes it better. I’ve tried a condom and it’s ok but it loses too much feeling.

i’m not saying coconut oil to bait but it seems safest for both of you and it’s thicker like vaseline, hope this helps!
