I always advocate people to get a dashcam in their vehicles. If you're on a motorcycle, get a helmet-mount GoPro, 360 camera, or both.

Thankfully, I haven't needed mine yet, but I've still caught many things on it that could have been construed as my fault if there had been an accident and I didn't have my camera.

I got one and it catches crazy shit all the time. I only just have a cheep one that swivels and records all time. Worth it.

Exactly. Thankfully I haven’t had to use it for crash evidence. But it’s even better to have with a speed gauge for cops. And court evidence

Yes , good to have especially now insurance scams are getting more common where scammers slam on their brakes in front of you to make it look like you rear ended them at your fault. Also most everybody lies about events that transpired involving accidents, even if they aren't meaning to straight out lie. It is an innate self-preservation response to omit and bend facts to your favor.

If it turns out you were doing naughty things like speeding and get pulled over and think the cops can use that evidence against you, just prior to being pulled over pop out the SD card and crush it. Also, newer cars log all the data anyway so if something really serious happened they will pull the driving log from the car's computer systems. They will know how fast you were going, brake reaction times, sensor readouts for the adaptive cruise and collision avoidance tech, etc. They all pretty much have GPS built in too so car companies can track and sell your data to whoever has money. Same data cops would use as well.
