Difficulty in thinking of a subject for a new thread?

So just out of curiousity. Do people on here find it difficult to either come up of a new subject to create a new thread on or thinking of a unique response to add on to an existing thread?

I do not know what the term for it is but it feels like everything has been answered in a way in a specific topic. This is pretty much the same effect for any forum places in all honesty; so genuinely wonder if there are tactics to keep on replying to threads or creating ones that are meaningful and not short worded stuff like you commonly see in the Personals section

It should also be worth noting that since ZV runs based on how many messages users posts on the forums it is sort of easy to just give short worded messages to bump up that status which feels like it encourages that in a way?

Why make new threads? In my 1500 post overs a year and a half I've only started maybe 3 threads.

That is true but main point being is like adding something new or different which isn't like the same responses you'd see in places?

Forums are funny like that. And certain things make people tick. I guess Reston finds more value in being a conversation starter and apparently may be suffering from some writer's block or creativity in initiating new topics. While others enjoy more of being a contributor. I enjoy both. And it is always exciting to see a conversation that I initiate carrying on for a while and getting to multiple pages. It is what it is, and you can't force conversations.

I am more for contributing, i am not too good on initiating things in all honesty. But you are probably right about the whole writer's block, for both initiating threads and contributing to threads.

Like in certain sections like the porn section you just see soo many responses/reply like "nice vid thanks for sharing" and it kinda feels like that kind of response is over saturated? I find myself just skimming over those particular responses but i might be missing the point.

In honesty i just like uniqueness and really i'm not a conversation forcer. I find more joy in discovering something that hasn't been discussed yet and bringing it into the light, however i must disclose that i realise some might be very mundane to talk about but even something that seems mundane i am interested in ^^

It's difficult because you can't make duplicates and all the threads here are ancient and not worth necroing.
I do not understand why bringing back an old thread with a new reply is not worth it. In all likelihood others will join in if the thread appears up top again.

I do. I often try to keep new sites active by creating new threads and replying to old ones but at one point if I am alone I just run out of steam.

Just personal preference for me I'd rather make a new thread than necro an old one. It's forum etiquette from l where I roamed.
That does honestly makes sense mainly in the personals sub-forum section and if the original poster is no longer active on the forum anymore.
However i have seen some forums actively deleting duplicate threads, can't remember which one but it is one of the tech forums like "Stack Exchange"
