Deleting own posts not possible until reaching post count

@ any admin: I just got aware that you need a special post count to delete your own post.

I would kindly ask an admin where that number is? I tried to find it, unsuccessfully.

On a personal note: I am irritated and I do find it highly questionable that I am not able to delete one of my own posts! You are aware that this is a very delicate forum. I have never stumbled upon other forums where you have a restriction like this. Could you please explain why you chose this rule, if I might ask?

iirc it is when you get to "citizen" status you are able to edit/delete after the first minutes.

The reason was apros of Nothing, so there is a good reason.

It is a sad habit to avoid users rendering threads inconsistent, I suppose.

In this forum it is different. There was a user with lots of sockpuppet accounts which went editing old post to add malicious things unknowingly to mods, so they changed the edit rules to prevent this.
Deletting possibly went along with the edit.

By now, If there is something you feel you want out of your post, you can report your own post and ask to change/delete on the reason text box ?

Ah, I see - thanks a lot for the explanation. In fact, that sounds reasonable.

I got in touch with ZThorse, I hope he might be of help. If not, I will be back at ya, my friend. ;)

In my opinion, people should be responsible for what they do. Limiting deletions helps to prevent people from abusing the system.
@Goattobeloved already explained the possibilities of abusements, which sound legit indeed.
Responsibility, sure. I was just irritated as this is the first board that I stumble upon where you do not have the right over your own post in the first place. Anyway, it was the post I reported. Thanks if you took care. ?

I think it's to be reasonable and responsible before posting something, then I think there's no need to delete one's own posts ?

Because this is a forum, and none of the behavior you describe is how a forum works. If that's what you're looking for than a forum isn't for you.

In my opinion post deletion/edit should be disabled until you get something like 2000 posts.
Yes it would screw me over a few times as well since I make mistakes, but I have seen people abuse this feature way too many times to do harm to discussions or hide their stupidity to pretend to be someone else.
