If you're honest about what you are doing - please talk to your vet...
I have had about all the "with my mastiff" (substitute great dane or dalmation) emails i can take. It is so bad my first reaction is to discredit 99% of these as fake.
For the 1% (probably less) of people that truly own a larger breed. Consult your veterinarian regarding what is healthy for your pup. (Before the fakies get lecturing - breeders consult their vets all the time, its not an awkward question).
Larger animals are at high risk for:
1. Hip dysplasia - already a common problem in larger breeds- breeding a large dog can seriously exacerbated this and lead to sever pain for your pup.
-- elbow dysplasia is also very common on largee breeds
2. heart problems from excessive breeding - very common for large breeds to develop cardiomyopathy. Also to consider with your bet are heart arrhythmia, enlarged valves and others than can lead to your dog's stroke or heart attack.
3. Musculoskeletal problems - especially of the spine. Prolonged breeding can cause numerous back problems for a large breed and increased risk of arthritis
4. Hypertrophic arthritis
There are plenty more.
If you're faking it - please keep it in the fantasy threads and out of mine and other members' inboxes - it just pisses some of is off as animal abuse.
