Am I just here because I wanted to see another perspective, or did it already turn me on to some degree? I didn't think so - and I've never really been close to animals - but why else would I have actually come here?
 
Who knows why you would have come here. :D
Or are you asking why other people come here?
 
Half asking rhetorically, half looking for possible insights. I'm very confused about my feelings regarding all of this, and don't know how to resolve this confusion.
 
Basically there are two main reasons why someone would be here.
1. A zoophile that genuinely loves animals.
2. A fetishist who most often enjoys watching usually women have sex with anything that is not a human.

Why are you confused about your feelings?
 
I came here, at least as far as I know, to get zoophiles' perspective on zoophilia. As far as I knew, I had no romantic or sexual inclinations regarding animals, just a desire for a more complete perspective. But why did I seek that perspective in the first place?

And after observing this site - looking at discussions, at images and clips, and at stories and anecdotes, I'm wondering if it might not have some sexual appeal to me. I can't tell if it's the content itself, or something else.

I don't know about the romantic end of things, because I've never really been around animals much.
 
Is it possible for you to return to that idea and examine your own thoughts to find out why it happened?
 
I can try. But as far as I remember, it was mostly just an attempt at gaining a different perspective. I saw a YouTube video about everything that happened around Sappho, and, like often is the case, the commentator attacked zoophilia as a whole whenever he had the chance, and to an irrational degree. I wanted to see a more level perspective on everything, and this forum was mentioned in the video, so I figured I'd go here, at least first.

One thing you will not get here is a "level perspective". Everything that you read here, will by it's nature, have a heavy bias.

You must have had some emotional reaction to the subject: disgust, indifference, curiosity, excitement. It would be unusual to have no reaction at all and then decide to investigate!

Yeah, I figured as much that zoophilia and pedophilia were pretty different things when I saw how many people here aren't even into humans in the first place.

And no, it didn't help with the confusion, because now I'm here, and I'm struggling with possible feelings of fetishistic attraction to the subject.

I was definitely curious, and really put off by how the YouTuber basically tried using one person as a way of demonizing an entire community.

For one reason, I don't know if I'm enjoying the zoo content itself, or the idea of the girls in the forum getting off to it.
For another, I feel bad about the possible idea of finding animals as sex objects, without really feeling anything more towards them.
 
I am, and I'm trying. Voicing it here helps, though, if nothing else.
I am certain it turns me on, for one reason or another. I am working on my feelings regarding this, but I'm not ashamed of it.

you seem really openminded, there is an element chat where conversations are more fuid and personal, if you ever feel like it, look in the general discussion and user chat section, people there are of all kinds, you might get some insight there
