Like the question says, would you rather be able to communicate with all animals or freely transform into any animal?
For communicating you understand them perfectly and they you. For transforming you’d gain all their features and abilities but only have your human understanding of them.
I personally would choose communication. While I understand dogs great and cats good as is, I’d love that absolute certainty. Not to mention all the other animals, including wild animals. It would be so easy to gain their trust and befriend them and stay out of potentially dangerous situations while doing so. That would also make for an excellent career as like a trainer or a vet or pretty much anything else that involves working with animals. Course it would be nice to be able to breathe underwater or fly or something but I’d still choose communication.
