Cheetahs

Can we talk about how amazing cheetahs are? Not only are they the fastest land animal with top speeds of over 60 mph, but they can reach those speeds in three seconds. That’s acceleration that most modern cars can’t achieve. They can also cover over 20 feet in a single stride. They just blow my mind.

They are also the closest living relatives to cougars, which I find kind of interesting considering the distance between North America and Africa.

Also, I just found out something else interesting about big cats in general. Of course Tigers and Lions can breed with eachother, though one is Asian and the other African, but they can both also breed with leopards! And these three cats, though they are all in the Old World, can breed with jaguars, which are from South America! Furthermore, cougars can breed with lions, jaguars, and leopards. Also, jungle cats have bred with bobcats, and domestic cats have bred with caracals!

It seems like cats in general are incredibly viable with one another.
The exception being the cheetah!

Cause Lion Tiger Leopard and Jaguar are all members of the Panthera genus. Cheetahs however, are a member of the different Sub-Family Felinae, which contains the genus's of various wild cats, Cougars, and domestic cats.

They're supposed to be pretty trainable and loyal. They're adorably cute, too. :)
