Is there any possibility that you can be honest and open up to him about it? If yes, that would be the best possible outcome. If no, then you are running a pretty significant risk of him finding out and feeling betrayed and losing everything.

So yeah, there is a potential for a huge impact to your relationship, but it depends entirely on how you choose to navigate it. Some (most) are not lucky/fortunate enough to have a partner in whom they can confide these feelings.

I think it will affect things. I was a zoo before I met my ex. It was something I started when I was 15 but being that young I never knew a community existed so it was something I always kept to myself. Once I got into a relationship with my ex and life continued I found out about the community and wanted to have zoo friends and connections. My ex was not into anything zoo related or even enjoyed the topic...so I was in a rutt...it felt wrong to keep lying about my zoo side and it felt wrong keeping that side of me hidden. So I told them....and now they are my ex; but I've been able to meet someone new who is a zoo and make some wonderful connections and have experiences I couldn't dream of if I stayed

Yes, it will affect your relationship even if he never finds out. Keeping secrets from a human partner affects that relationship. The important question is whether it will impact the relationship positively or negatively. My Ex GF used to be into this. Way back then I was NOT into it. That was way back then.
