Hi, wasn’t sure where to post this, but I have a question. I’m currently watching a friend’s extremely horny but neutered dog, and I was wondering if neutered dogs can “finish” or have an orgasm?

Obviously I know he can’t cum like an intact dog, but he’s always very eager to fuck and knots easily. However, he never really seems to be satisfied? In other words, he doesn’t seem to have a refractory period. His knot goes down and then he wants to fuck again in five minutes. Neutered dogs can still get horny and have sex but since they can't cum I'm not sure they can actually orgasm. It's possible, or they may just enjoy the humping despite a lack of orgasm

First off. It’s a friends dog. Not yours so it should be off limits. Second, yes they can. They just don’t expel anything. It’s rare for any castrated dog to show interest though. Either he’s had past experience with a bitch or someone has been playing with him. I’m guessing you?

They can get horny (but compared to non-neutered often less actively, less repeatedly and with a lower or no basic interest, if they are neutered early in life) and they can orgasm.

Just that their orgasms trigger a lower level of hormonal activity and some bodily functions ain't possible without the existence of the corresponding organs.

As such an orgasm of a male or female dog which is intact might result in stronger hormonal activity and - depending on the sex - connected bodily results (i.e. ejaculation of sperm from males, for females there are different aspects linked).
