Can Dogs smell pheromones

So back in the day when we had a few family dogs, one of our shepard dogs always had a thing for going under other peoples skirt and sniffing them. I always wondered if the smell attracted him or if he was just curious. When my gf at that time was on her period it was particual noticeable. He would barely leave her side and got super excited when she walked in. Anyone else had similar experiences with that or was mine just an exception

Yes, humans can smell those too, but our sent organs is not good enough to make us understand that it is pheromones we smell.
But we subconsciously still know, as humans pheromones have a measurable effect on us.

Yeah they can and some will even start to act up because they are that focused on it, I can't say anything though as when my female dog was in season her smell would drive me crazy 😅

That's just empirically wrong.
There is evidence that humans USED TO possess pheromones, but no unique chemical compound has been identified as an active human pheromone. We evolved away from them in favor of being visual creatures.

Yet to demonstrate definitively that pheromones are at work, researchers need to point to the molecules responsible, which they have not yet done. To date, scientists have collected evidence for possible pheromone effects but have not definitively identified a single human pheromone.

+ The fact that people just generally smell pretty bad. :D

Additionally to that, there is saying in german which roughly translates to "i cant smell that person" which is basically saying there there a certain peolple which u cant stand just because of their smell. Doesnt mean that they smell bad but they just dont smell good to ur taste, somethint which i always thought was true

Depends on what studies you look at.

Some body produced chemicals have been proven to have an effect.

Compound found in male human sweat effecting female humans on a measurable level= an effect on a measurable level.

Answer is simple and obvious! Of course dogs can smell pheromones. Dog's smell sense is waaay better than human sense. Their noses are perfect smell detectors.
I also noticed years ago when I smelled naturally without using any skin oils, tonics, cremes, perfumes - my doggie tried to sniff me more often. Not always he was sexually excited but for sure he preferred my natural body smell ☺️
