Is it possible for a pregnant dog to develop random allergies and suddenly become fatally allergic to human semen? This would be a dog that had previous had human semen every day for 3 years.
I should mention she had consumed human semen orally for years and never had a reaction to it. And suddenly while pregnant started puking one morning, went into shock, and passed away. It's totally possible, but this is NOT the horse I'd be placing bets on.
Dogs can be allergic to humans already, it does happen, and allergies CAN develop over time from exposure. A pregnancy causing the body to go into a whole cyclone of hormonal changes, can certainly help that along..
But
You have a better chance of being hit by a bus, while swimming. It can happen, if your under a bridge and a bus drives off...

Yes the other far more likely option is that she swallowed something in the yard she was allergic to, and she had played with a hornets nest the day before. So quite possible she got stung multiple times. But it was still 24 hours prior. So ultimately I have no idea why.That's.....
there's more to this than that..
Morning sickness is entirely normal, a dog puking while pregnant is as expected as snow, on a cold winter day. But to just suddenly drop?

Thank you. It’s been super rough week. And I would just hate myself forever if that’s why she died but it seems so unlikely. Like, human semen has prostaglandins in it that can effect the uterus, but that shouldn’t have any effect from the oral sideif she was stung a bunch of times, youd have noticed, of course unless she had a wasp allergy, and the first sting did it. Swallowing a bad thing is also another strong possibility, esp in spring is the squirrels are digging up stores.
I'm sorry for your loss, it's never easy *hugs*
Either way, don't blame yourself. We can't always stop these things

Thank you. She was very happy and well loved. I feel empty without her! A miscarriage feels like a likely cause tbh. I’ll never know for sure.Granted, I'm not a vet, but there's a few reasons this could happen other than a sudden allergy to semen that she never had before.
If it was late in the pregnancy it could have been eclampsia, where the dog gave up too much calcium to make milk for the pups and this severe calcium deficiency lead to a sudden cardiac arrest (heart attack.)
Another possibility would be a miscarriage. But there should be signs before it became fatal such as fever, abdominal pain, and a brown, green, black, or pus colored discharge.
Another possibility would be if one of the pups ossified in the womb, the body treated it as a parasite, and she went into toxic shock.
The thing is that nobody here is going to know for certain. The only way you'd be able to find out what happened would be to have your vet do a necropsy to determine the cause of death. But it seems like a sudden never before seen allergic reaction would be on the unlikely side.
But with all that being said, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I hope your canine companion had a wonderful and happy life when she was with you. May she rest in peace.
