Bladder problems

Cookiecaretaker

Heya,

since some time my girl has often bladder infections - was at multiple vets, she got meds, changed food, changed hygiene but it wont stop

Stuff which i tryed:

(no sex or play since she has often such Problems)
-get PH-Value of pee on good value (with supplements like vitc and other)
-giving cranberry extract in food
-3x400ml water with some wetfood so she drinks it all each day
-special bladder Dogfood
-whiping down pussy and tailhole after walkies (because she had a thing in the past where she licked der ass then her pussy...)

now it beginns again, will go to vet, they will give meds and do investigation of blood/urin and maybe ultrasonic but 4-6 week later it will come up again :/

does someone had similar problematic dog(s)?

Have you had the vet send a sample out to be cultured? Different antibiotics work better on different bacteria, so if you haven't consider getting it cultured and tested so the best antibiotic can be utilized to get a better chance of eliminating the problem.

If she has fairly long hair, you might try a sanitary trim of the hair back there and wash that area more frequently.

yes even with sterile sample with bladder punction - antibiotics work but not much long later it comes back

the area behind is trimmed an cleaned daily

Iv had this same problem with girl for the last year and a half or so. After speaking to my vet he suggested I change her food. The one he suggested didn't seem much different than what she was already eating so i mentioned one of those natural, refrigerated, no preservative, human grade dog foods you order online and they ship to you and he agreed. So I started ordering it. It's called Ollie, it's kinda expensive BUT it's well worth it IMO. She has done very very well on it and she hasn't gotten a UTI in 6 months.
This UTI problem coupled with urinary incontinence due to her age and spaying has strained me quite a bit but as long as she is able to keep going and stay healthy I'm willing to put in the effort for her. She deserves it.

Very happy to see this. Diet can make a huge difference in the health of our dogs. ?
Exactly. It's crazy the kinda crap they put in regular dog food. Like Holy shit yo!
You can't make food shelf stable for 25 plus years without processing the hell out of it. Basically like you eating McDonald's everyday for your entire life. Is just not good for you.
