Bit of a vent...

So, I've been tossing this idea in my head for a little bit. I've been browsing a lot of zoo type resources to better understand the thoughts that go through my head. @Admins and @Moderators, thank you for putting forth so many safe guards to keep things secure. There are so many laws on the books related to sex between humans and non-humans and different variations on terms that are used to describe this type of connection. What bugs me, is there are so many sites out there that host images/videos of sex between humans and non-humans as cartoons, but actually seeing real world examples is illegal.

We have furries (I love furries, I am not picking on you) who dress up as animals and have sex and this is considered okay (both in real life and as cartoons). We have sex with animal shaped sex toys (Bad Dragon, for example) and that's okay. We have BDSM gear that makes us look like animals and that's okay. Certain social media sites that start with X you can proudly push all the #tags that talk all about this and there is this huge community. Yet, sex with humans and non-humans still has to be something only discussed in the back alleys (for lack of better terms) of the web.

Anyone feel that...there is potential for a cultural shift where zoo isn't illegal? Anyone else not understand why it's okay one way, and not the other?

No.

A cultural shift needs acceptance by the majority, not enforced generalization and positive wording.

There will never be acceptance of this topic, because the majority plain loves to project their misinformed, false assumptions and to ignore scientific knowledge, as long as it allows them to "have someone worse than themself", as such to blame. Be it for ill animals, for the downfall of humanity, for the weather forecast, for their own sadness and grim existence. For whatever reason here is.

This topic is too easy to not be used by them for excluding specific activities and the linked people. Because they can feel like "everyone" is their own positive echo-chamber with it, independently of what science assures in terms of animals being able to agree, consent, initiate, show interest and all those aspects.

Any mainstreaming, any undertaking to get attention will be followed by more restrictions, laws, anti-measures and hate.
