She's 4 had several heats. I'm more asking about position, doggy or missionary. Would like to get some ideas on others taking their bitch for the first time.

I think the best position is doggy style. That's natural for them and dogs feel the most comfortable when on their feet and able to move away from a situation freely.

You want to wait till their second heat and in my opinion doggy style is the best and or the only way to do it, and obviously you want to be gentle.

2nd heat is best since they aren't used to their body's sensation. but personally it would be missionary since you can ease into it no pressure.
