I've read most of the forums about security on here and I had a question. I think I'm right in saying it's pretty much illegal to be on here, so assuming you've done all the recommended safety stuff on here, used tor, with a VPN and you had never downloaded anything, If you device was to be siezed by someone, would it be possible to detect any trace of the fact that you were on this website? What are some mistakes that could be made that would show you had been here?
Firstly, it's not illegal to be on here. Any trace or beastiality content you have is legal (at least in the US). In the instance of illegal activity, and safety you really don't need anything.
The only thing that can really be identified is your IP address and a generalized location, which can in some cases be over a hundred miles from where you actually are. Sure, someone could spend hours hacking your device, as long as your connected to internet or their using an illegal device close enough to your physical location. But what would they get? Who would waste their time? Authorities have real crimes to solve and have limited time and resources.
I'm not an IT guy, or Cisco, but I am CIS, it's less software and cyber security and more hardware based than anything, but I'm certainly not ignorant to all of it. I really don't think it's a matter of security as much as it is a matter of comfortability, personal/emotional security, and personal mental stability (non-paranoia).
Im more worried about online mmo video game hackers than stalkers and hackers here. I just use a firewall, and a VPN masked by a VPN and two software programs that let me know when I have trojens, and hacks. It happens a lot on microphone as and camera in gaming. Avast and antivirus spyware are good and free to let you know when you've been breached.
Also always actually do a VPN locator check to ensure your VPN did or still is encrypting your IP with a different country or state.
