This poll is whether one identifies as zoo or bestialist.

Below are the definitions for "zoo" and "bestialist" provided by ZTHorse:

Bestialism - A sexual preference in which a person has consensual sex with animals but lacks affection or romantic feelings for the animal; A friends with benefits relationship. IE: John sees that bestialism has been growing in the zoo community over the years.

Bestialist - A person who practices bestialism. IE: John has been a bestialist for years.

Zoophile: A person whom forms emotional and romantic feelings for their animals. IE: John knew he was a zoophile when he first saw a mare.

Zoo - Shorten term for zoophile. IE: John is a great zoo.

Me too, even though a few people told me that I shouldn't consider myself being a zoo since I never had sex with animals. But I disregard their opinion on that matter.

I think you could be called a zoo regardless, because zoo is more about the emotional attachment. Its like love, you can be in love without having sex, but you can have sex without being in love.

Bestiality is the act of having sex with the animal. So technically you are "best-curious" if you want to have sex with animals (sub emotions) but have yet too. You can be a zoo with or without the sex.

I agree wholeheartedly!

I set mine to other but in reality I'm more both. I love my dog above everything and he loves me back, but I would also like to try other animals.
That's also my stance on humans, I might love someone but if I were to be in a relationship it would be a sexually open one.

Other, meaning both. Poly-zoo-sexual?

Sort of like, when people ask me, "Oh, so you're a professional photographer, not just amateur?" (Um. What? It's not either/or for some of us. Some forms of photography, just a nice way to make money; others, my passion, even unpaid).

I had to go other also. Although I'm zoophile first, I also get horny. But at the same time random encounters never happen so ya.

I voted "Other" because this is an apples to oranges comparison. I am Zoo because I engage with my horse on social and emotional levels. I practice bestiality because it makes both of us happy.

"Beastiality" is an advertising buzz word made up by porn pushers.

if you see zoophilia as an orientation (i do), then it doesn't matter if you've "sealed the deal" or not. if the attraction is there, you're a zoophile/bestialist/whatever (IMO).

That's the official definition as well, therefore I consider myself being a zoo, no matter what I did or didn't do.

Zoophile/zoosexual here, though I don't mind emotionless one night stands, and my wife/husband dogs don't mind that I "cheat" on them.

Edit: For me I could say I was a "bestialist" from age 12 to14. Only thinking about sex. Not knowing that you could have a loving relationship with a dog in that way, partially repressing my feelings. Back then I was trying to be "normal" and trying to like female humans. But since I discovered that I was a zoosexual and there was nothing wrong with it, I start seeking loving relationships with dogs, eventually got my own dog, later to be my husband.

Zoophile here. Emotionally attached to the individuals. I have trouble with one night stands, I had opportunities with mares, dogs and even dolphins but since they would disappear from my life in days, I kept everything platonic. I think going intimate with them would create serious separation depression. Also I run away from developing relationships that I know that will be hard to keep going.

Born a zoo, will die a zoo.

I've loved animals more than people, in every way; sexual, physical, emotional. My relationships with these amazing creatures is what makes my time on this planet worth it, not the drone-worker sheep that shuffle along every day, that i have to pretend to follow suit with.

I wish I could just beat to my own drum and be free in my romantic attractions, but I don't expect that to ever become a thing in my lifetime anyway. Perhaps for the best.

But yes, getting away from the question, haha. Definitely a zoo. I love animals with all my heart.
Sex is just bonus

I fall into the bestialist catagory. That doesn't mean i wont form a bond or care for the animal. I'm not actually attracted to them. For example, I do have pets (not dogs yet) and i do care for them, and one of them ( I do blacksmithing and i have a shop cat) I have conversations with, give attention to, care fot and truly care about. But im not attracted to it or any animal.

Wouldn't that mean you are exactly the opposite, as bestiality usually relates to sex, while you say, you aren't even attracted to them, which would be the opposite of what a bestialist would be.

No, if you read what the OP posted as a bestialism, it's more of a friends with benefits. Zoophiles are attrated and develope a relationship with their animsl partners. For me this mostly a fetish. I'm not a zoo. I'm not attracted to animals, but i enjoy and understand why people enjoy sex with animals. Thats like men who enjoy being knotted by dogs, that doesnt mean they are gay and attracted to men. Even though having a male dog penetrate them is almost a long the lines of homosexuality. It's just a preference.

Edit: i relaized i used the wrong word. Should have been bestialism and not bestialist. Even though i am both, i guess.

I definitely lean towards zoophile, I love animals for much more than their bodies.
