Are there any actual active telegram groups?

What's the advantage of a telegram group over these forums, if I may ask? Is it just that it is not publicly accessible?

Outside of Zooville im really not in any 'telegram group' per say but happy to chat n stuff.
 
I have a local chat, mostly for people centered around Raleigh, NC, but we have friends that are as far flung as Atlanta, GA.

Telegram is a live multimedia chat, and it's very cool just for that reason.

I also find that I make more friends on invite only social media than on public discussion formats.
 
There are active telegram groups, I'm in dozens of group but I don't know one that is open for random people to join

9. Do not include phone numbers / emails / KiK / any other IM names, links or chat invites in any section of the main site, including the personals section. Have members contact you through PM on the site instead. You then can decide to share them those details. (Posting on their profile does not count as a private message.) Encoding your phone number in the form of alphabet is also not allowed. Don't try to fool us by changing the way you enter your email in a post. We'll find it eventually. We don't have bots that check for posts.

That is also a way to get a group shut down at best, LEO targets at worst.
