fixin to buy a 16ft lavender albino Reticulated python here
Just curious how many other herpers are about

Years ago when I was first getting into zoo, I came across a few videos where chicks would let the snakes slither inside them. For the life of me I can’t find anything related now :’)
I was referring to platonic enthusiasm lol

Indeed it does. Snakes are also known as "sneks," "nope ropes," and "danger noodles."

Ooooh, Danger Noodle, lmao. I thought it was the name of some kind of kink or activity I didn’t know about, lol

Yeah, I’ve got a huge soft spot for snakes. Mostly constrictors though, as I like the scale patterns and more muscular build.

I have a 4ft buddy, pastel ball python. When I'm working in the lab he hangs out wrapped around my left arm. He's a sweetheart, a rescue as well. There's a pet shop in town that lied about his condition and generally leaves their other animals in filth. He didn't eat for 6 months and I was the first one to get him to eat. I love my nope rope but he freaks the ladies out, and my cat thinks he's the devil, but that's probably cause he been watching Bible shows or something, cats are weird like that.

A former roomie had a big ball python. I honestly miss the little noodle's booper more than the roomie who owned it. Sadly I don't have the space or expertise to have my own.
Balls are really easy keepers, dont require lots of space, and are pretty mellow natured.

This little Dwarf Reticulated Python however, will still reach 9ft or more, so will need a bit more work.20210603_171521.jpg

Awww, that's a gorgeous little noodle. Can't imagine that ending up at 9ft from that.
Me neither honestly, thankfully he is a real sweetheart, super inquisitive and loves being handled.
Hopefully the big girl I'm fixing to get is half as mellow as he is, don't want to have almost 17ft of anger issue python to deal with

How can you even handle that. Its almost twice the length of a dolphin. Sounds like it could eat you if you had a slightly heavy nap.

Well carrying her around isn't an option, at that length she's likely about 150lbs.

As for being lunch, it really depends how wide she is, 2 x her width is usually as wide as they can open their mouth.

Long as she isnt 15 inches around i should be rather safe lol.

Though she IS eating 20+ pound piglets on a regular basis, and os only 5yrs old, so her hitting 20 ft in a couple years isn't unrealistic

Jesus, 20ft?! that's like half a titanoboa. I'd be afraid of it trying to eat my dog at that point.
