This just went through twitter, and it's so close to validating for non zoos to understand that yes, animals are intelligent creatures! It's just different intelligence than human based, and as such it's important to learn how each of us are communicating to one another!

Any time we're impressed by what non-human animals do, it's simply because we previously underestimated their intelligence.

I do not know to which extent people do not understand that animals are intelligent and to which extend they purposefully choose to ignore that. It depends on the situation, but admitting animal intelligence and higher cognitive functions is not going to be good for an industry that produces meat or promotes sport hunting.

pretty much, most ppl just choose to ignore that... and i'm guilty of that too as i'm a meat eater myself
