Advice on my older boy

Hi everyone,

Never posted here before, so fingers crossed it goes ok!

I've got an older boxer boy who is 10 or 11 years old. He seems to enjoy being jerked off, which I have done many times when he has been interested, however he has never had a humping reflex. He also enjoys licking me, but I can never get him to mount me. The only time he did mount me was when he was younger, and I didn't know what I was doing so nothing happened. As far as I'm aware, he has never properly mated with another dog before, but has probably mounted a few.

Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone give me any tips for encouraging him to mount me? Could it be possible that he doesn't want to simply because he's an old boy?

If he just doesn't want to, I'm absolutely cool with that and will give him a helping hand anytime he likes - of course I don't want to force him into anything.

Any advice or tips greatly appreciated.

Yes. Older dogs can have stiff joints or feel some sort of discomfort or even pain. It might be difficult to tell because animals in general tend to show pain as a last resort.
Sometimes dogs that gotten used to being jerked, learn that they do not need to put any effort into it and will not thrust or mount either.

Personally with his age id not try get him to mount, especially if handjobs are doing it for him anyway <3

I had a lab 3 or 4 dogs back that never did get into it, but he didn't like belly rubs either. Go figure. Each one has his own personality for sure. If he likes being jerked off stick with that.
