Does it bother anybody else that we need the admins' permission to delete out accounts, and worse, that they usually say no? They're our accounts. They were made off of our personal data and interactions. They contain things that identify us. And the admins get to tell us whether or not we can delete that?

If you say, "What does it matter, just abandon the account," I ask you why? It's not easier for the admins to have to review post history before deciding to delete an account or not. Just delete every account that asks. Or have a delete account function, like every other forum website on earth. Every single person here should know the need for privacy more than most people in society, but the admins tell us its up to them if we can have our privacy by deleting our account. This is crazy.

Pooor baby....If you want out..change your password to a long string of alpha numerics you couldn"t possibly remember, log out and done. If your nick worries you change it before you go. If the Admin says "No" to your request you dont have enough posts to worry about. If youve been here awhile, and active, they don't say no.

This IS the net, kid....nothing ever goes away. Deal.

Most forums don't let you delete your account. It's this little thing called spam protection.

Are there alternatives to this platform where user autonomy and privacy are higher priorities?

Not sure why anyone would scoff at the idea of users owning and controlling their own data. Big web2 energy.

Everyone picks snapchat, and Tiktok, because those sites definitely keep your privacy in check.

There's barley anything that can identify you unless you're posting it yourself. Plus some come here just to find porn and want to leave because they're not finding anything new to share elsewhere. So they're just a waste of time. Or I can just spam your account and that can be counted as a deletion. Everything will be deleted. Your name would just be banned.
