A video about a frightened dog.

When she is standing at the wall and the guy pets her side, I feel like it is almost too much for her. My gut feeling said in that state to stop touching. What do all think?

I deal with anxiety a lot. Sometimes one has to put fear in others to get them to overcome fear. Animals will do the same too. Ever seen a growing male wolf being possesive with a bitch? Yet the female would remain calm even if seeming submissive.

It's about those slow and steady movements. As long as you make the slow and careful movements then being an intimidating presence can work. Work in the gentle tones. It can be pretty effective. Gets people/animals used to "touch isn't hurting". Just takes adjusting too.

For best results if a dog/wolf bites then I'd let them. Don't struggle back. I'd be able to keep my cool in those situations. If you don't show anger/lashing out when they do that then it can warm them up to you.

The dog gets adopted btw.

Poor thing. She was so frightened, it breaks my heart. Somebody abused that wonderful and beautiful soul and I hope they get what is coming to him/her.

Worse. Someone discarded them.

Fear has its uses. Pushing away does not. Once you do that, to a person or an animal, it fucks them up. Leaves them stuck in that place.

And the worst part? People do this. Over and over. It's so "normalized". What if you do that to other people and don't realise it?
